This recent residency directly influenced the work Matt had in the show. Matt’s pieces create a depth and a sense of space that surrounds the actual piece. Matt mentions in his artist statement, “Simplicity is the key. My work is built on consideration . . . Softly, the work asks for the viewers’ attention. Each piece is ready for a conversation and is willing to be part of a greater surrounding.” Matt’s words speak to the serene visual vocabulary of the innovative work he creates.

Kelleher received his MFA in Ceramics from University of Nebraska, 1999. He also holds an MA in Printmaking from University of Northern Iowa, 1997. His BFA is in Ceramics from Kansas City Art Institute, 1995.
